Connie Albert, an at-home caregiver of her own business, Affordable In Home Care, aids her patient (name withheld) in drinking a protein smoothie on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, in Webster, N.Y. Albert’s patient, 84, is in stage six in the progress of Alzheimer’s. The disease progresses from stage one to stage seven, starting with frequent memory loss of recently occurring events and ending with losing all awareness of experiences and surroundings, coupled with physical degredation. The patient’s daughter, Brenda Forster (not pictured), commented “We haven’t lost mom . . . she’s lost us.” Forster has a unique understanding of her mother’s disease, and wants to become an at-home caregiver after her mother passes, and Forster moves back to her home in Cary, N.C.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
