Cora Treoir Duncan, Cassi Uberty, and Diana Langton are all middle-aged male to female transgender women who have struggled and fought in order to maintain their true gender identity. All three women are individuals who have overcome heartache and struggle despite the stereotypes and social ignorance forced upon them. It is time for them to start living their story.

Love Bares All Thinigs

In November 2014 at 57 years-old, Wayne Lamicela was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and signs of early-onset Alzheimer’s. Having only met his wife Jean Lamicela twelve years ago Jean is trying to find ways to be able to take on the role of caretaker but also enjoy the love they have for each other. Through the medium of video, this project is an attempt to document the real consequences of dementia and how love tries to overcome adversity.

Watkins Glen Racing

Watkins Glen

This project explores the visual history and importance of motor road racing in Watkins Glen, New York. Through the use of images, audio, and text collected from the International Motor Racing Research Center, located in Watkins Glen, NY, the website presented here takes the viewer through the vast history of road racing in Watkins Glen from its infancy in 1948 to current day racing at Watkins Glen International.

Michael Yamashita, a third-generation Japanese-American, embarked on a trip to Japan when he was only 22 to learn more about his roots and eventually began his career as a photographer. In 1989, he was assigned his first story for National Geographic on Hokkaido and since has spent thirty years creating an archive of over 150,000 photographs, documenting the length of Japan. This e-book showcases previously unpublished photographs that explore the unique relationship between a culture, its habitat, and the inevitable challenges of coexisting with nature.

At first glance, you might not immediately see anything growing around Rochester. However, if you slow down and take a closer look, just around the corner you will likely find a garden or two. Just Around the Corner ~ Urban gardeners making a difference in Rochester, N.Y. is an exploration of three urban gardeners, including Kasim Wallace whose journey is shared in these photographs.

Franklin, N.Y. is one of the many small towns in the United States facing the worldwide debate over hydrofracking. This project explores the different perspectives of people in Delaware County, which is currently debating the potential of a natural gas pipeline that will carry fracked gas from Pennsylvania into New York.

In one of the poorest counties in New York, the payoffs offered by the pipeline and the projected number of jobs that it could create are appealing. On the other side of the debate are those concerned with the potential environmental harm and the future of hydrofracking in their County.

Greg Marinovich, a native South African photojournalist, documented South Africa’s rich, complex history over a period of four decades. His photographs covered the end of apartheid and frequently focused on the intricacies of everyday life. This book takes the viewer through the nuances of South African culture and history.

Adopted Love

Chaney Roko, 35, is a single widow of two adopted handicapped daughters, Kiera, 5, and Mary, 10. Mary and Kiera both have Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita, a rare neuromuscular disease that bends the body’s joints at birth. Each day, Chaney must tend to her children’s needs from the time they wake up to bedtime, leaving her with little free time to herself.

It Had to be Done

In 2001, Marlene Sutliff suffered a brain aneurysm causing significant hearing loss that still affects her daily life. Her son, Rob Sutliff, witnessed the episode and became Marlene’s caregiver during her recovery. Since the aneurysm, Marlene and Rob’s relationship has shifted and they rely on each other in new and unexpected ways.

Finding a New Normal

Boyhood is the time in a boy’s life that includes adventure, exploration, and figuring out where he fits in the world. When tragedy occurs during this time of life, it can drastically change a his perception of the world and the people around him. The video explores the life of two boys and their father after a tragic loss and the photographs show a glimpse of their journey through boyhood.
