[POTW Weeks 4-5, First place] In Webster, NY, a West Webster firefighter receives an embrace upon arriving at a vigil held for two West Webster volunteer firefighters, Tomasz Kaczowka, a 911 dispatcher in his early 20s, and Michael Chiapperini, a 43-year-old lieutenant with the Webster Police Department, December 26, 2012. After arriving at a car fire which set ablaze seven homes on Lake Rd, both men were killed after being shot at on the morning of Christmas Eve by 62 year old William Spengler. The vigil was organized by the owners of Barry's Old School Irish restaurant on Main Street in Webster

[POTW week 4-5, Second Place] Legendary hardcore band Paint It Black plays a surprise show in the kitchen of a Philadelphia house Dec. 27, 2012. Vocalist Dan Yemin performs songs off their first album entitled CVA, a reference to his stroke he suffered in 2000. He is now a practicing child and teen psychologist in the Philadelphia region.
